About Us
Thank you for visiting our site!
We are a non-denominational, Christ-centered church located in Ntungamo Municipality. The Church honors the Holy Bible as the Word of God to man, accepts that salvation is found only through faith in Jesus Christ, welcomes the infilling, guidance and leadership of the Holy Spirit, cherishes the freedom to worship and praise God, and embrace the Kingdom of God as our culture. The Church exists primarily to serve the needs of the community of Ntungamo; and then the ends of the earth. The community is comprised of Banyankole tribe as the majority; the migrant Bakiga from Kabale district and Banya-Rwanda from the Republic of Rwanda respectively.
Our History
Lift Up Jesus Church - Ntungamo was established by Pr. Roberts and his wife Sarah in the year 2010. God ministered to him to move from Kabale, having served in ministry for over a decade with Lift Up Jesus Church in Kabale. In Ntungamo, we have been engaged in various evangelistic and community transformations activities. We are dedicated to loving God, loving people and desiring to impact our community. We are driven by passion that creating a lasting impact on the community demands us to go beyond the church pulpit and minister love to the hurting.
Pastor Roberts had been formally involved in ministry service with Lift Up Jesus Church in Kabale as part of the pastoral staff; working under a ministry registered and recognized by the government of Uganda as a non governmental organization. Major areas of ministry he had been involved with include: Organizing Annual Revival Conferences; Prayer, Youth (students); and strategic community transformation programs. Although Lift Up Jesus - Ntungamo is part of the family of Lift Up Jesus; it has complete independence in its operation and implementation of its activities. That is to simply say that its an independent local church.
Vision: Our vision is to lift up the name of our Lord Jesus Christ through preaching the gospel and engaging in community transformation activities.
Mission: Our Mission is to preach the gospel, helping the poor and needy; training and developing Christian leaders.
Purpose: Our purpose is to bring the lost to Jesus Christ and to build up and encourage those who are already believers. We desire to glorify Christ by reaching our community and to love, nurture and teach one another to imitate the heart of Jesus!
Our Beliefs
The Lord Jesus Christ: We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God. We believe in His substitutionary death for all men, His resurrection, and His eventual return to judge the world.
Salvation: We believe all men are born with a sinful nature and that the work of the Cross was to redeem man from the power of sin. We believe that this salvation is available to all who will receive it.
The Holy Spirit: We believe in the existence of the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Trinity and in His interaction with man. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as manifested by the fruit and the gifts of the Spirit.
The Sacred Scripture: We believe in the scripture as the inspired Word of God and that it is the complete revelation of God's will for mankind. We believe in the absolute authority of the scripture to govern the affairs of men.
The Church: We believe in the Church as the eternal and universal Body of Christ consisting of all those who have accepted the work of the atonement. We believe in the need for a local assembly of believers for the purpose of evangelism and edification.
Prayer and Praise: We believe in the worship of the Lord through singing, clapping, and the lifting of hands. We believe in the authority of the believer to ask freely of the Lord for his needs.
Evangelism: We believe that evangelism is the obligation of every follower of Jesus Christ. The Lord commands us to go out and make disciples of all nations.
Water Baptism: We believe in the ordinance of water baptism by immersion in obedience to the Word of God. All those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior should be baptized in water as a public profession of their faith in Christ.
